Change starts in Rotterdam
The Port of Rotterdam can be an engine of the economy of the future. But for that to happen, the Port Authority must choose real change: less fossil fuels, more clean energy, and a port aligned with the Paris Agreement. That is why we are taking action against the Port Authority of Rotterdam.
50x more emissions than Schiphol
The Port of Rotterdam is one of Europe’s largest fossil fuel hubs. The emissions facilitated via the port are approximately sixty times* greater than the emissions reported by Schiphol. Yet, a plan is lacking to phase out these fossil fuel activities fairly, on time, and in line with the Paris Agreement.

This goes beyond Rotterdam
The Port of Rotterdam is not just a local industrial area. Through oil, coal, and gas, the port connects the Netherlands to global fossil fuel chains. Research by CE Delft shows that the emissions facilitated by the Port Authority are many times greater than the emissions within the port itself. Therefore, this case is not just about Rotterdam, but about the responsibility of one of Europe’s largest fossil fuel gateways.
This is about YOU
The choices made in the port today determine what our future looks like. They affect the air we breathe, the climate we live in, and the world that young and future generations will inherit.
