Driven by advocacy, powered by the law
We envision a future where people live in a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment, where human rights are respected, nature can recover, and core democratic values are protected. We help advance this vision through two powerful tools:
Public Advocacy
We work on innovative campaigns that put often overlooked issues on the agenda. By mobilising public debate and partnering with experts across sectors, we help shape policies, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
Legal Action
We use the law as a constructive and enabling force. We challenge outdated legal assumptions and ensure accountability so that governments and private actors uphold their legal responsibilities.

Advocates for the Future aims to protect people, animals and the planet against (dangerous) climate change, loss of biodiversity, environmental pollution, soil depletion and the damage and destruction of ecosystems and to contribute to a sustainable society and to find solutions for social issues, all that for the benefit of current and future generations both within and outside the Netherlands and all that is related to the above or can be conducive to it.

Our Team
Advocates for the Future operates with a compact, dynamic team based in the Netherlands. Our organisational set-up focuses on agility, allowing us to conduct much of our work in-house while seeking to leverage the strengths and knowledge of Advocates for the Future's cooperation partners.

Advocates for the Future operates under a two-tier governance model that includes a Supervisory Board holding formal oversight over the organisation, and a Board tasked with the management of the organisation.
